Medicines run out
Clinics buy reactively and stock out daily. Patients leave with a prescription but no medicine — and often turn to informal sellers with no guarantee of quality or dosage. A prescription that can't be filled is not care.
Dhow Health, through the AfyaNzima brand, partners with private primary care clinics, embedding licensed pharmacists, reliable medicine supply, and clinical software directly into their operations, so that the clinicians who run them can focus entirely on their patients.

We're building a team of pharmacists, technologists, and operations professionals who want to transform healthcare in Kenya.
Dhow Health is a Nairobi-based healthcare company building the operating infrastructure that Kenya's private primary care clinics have always needed but never had access to.
We do this through our consumer brand, AfyaNzima — a network of in-clinic pharmacies embedded inside existing private clinics across Kenya. AfyaNzima is the name patients and clinic owners know us by. Dhow Health is the company that makes it work: the team, the technology, the supply chain, and the operational model behind it.
We are a small, mission-driven team. We believe the best way to improve healthcare access in Kenya is to work within the existing clinic network — not to replace it.
Millions of Kenyans rely on private primary care clinics — they are close, trusted, and affordable. But most of these clinics operate without the systems, supply chains, or pharmacy support they need to deliver consistent, complete care.
Clinics buy reactively and stock out daily. Patients leave with a prescription but no medicine — and often turn to informal sellers with no guarantee of quality or dosage. A prescription that can't be filled is not care.
Doctors and nurses running their own clinics are exceptional clinicians — but they were not trained to manage supply chains, forecast inventory, or hire and supervise pharmacy staff. That gap costs them time, revenue, and ultimately costs their patients.
Without software, every visit starts from zero. Conditions go untracked, follow-ups are missed, and the patterns that could identify who needs proactive care remain invisible. Kenya's clinic network is flying blind.
Through the AfyaNzima brand, we embed inside existing clinics and take on the pharmacy function entirely — so that clinic owners can do what they were trained to do, and patients always leave with what they need.
Every visit, prescription, and medicine dispensed is recorded in our system. Clinicians can view patient history at a glance, track chronic conditions, and follow up with patients who need them — all from a single screen.
We manage the full pharmacy supply chain for our partner clinics — stocking essential medicines, managing reordering, and absorbing inventory risk. When a patient walks in, the medicines they need are there.
We employ and place licensed pharmacists inside each partner clinic. They dispense medicines safely, counsel patients on their treatment, and ensure every interaction meets professional standards — every day.
We are a small team doing ambitious work. We hire people who want to build something meaningful — and who are comfortable operating in environments that are still being figured out.
We currently hire pharmacists, pharmacy technologists, operations professionals, and software engineers. We are based in Nairobi and work on the ground in the clinics we serve.
Our team is inside clinics, not behind a screen. We understand what we build by experiencing it firsthand.
Healthcare demands accuracy over speed. We take our time to get things right — and we hold ourselves to high professional standards.
Improving healthcare infrastructure takes years, not months. We are in this for the long haul and we hire people who share that outlook.
